In a letter to Bishop Tracy Malone and other Council of Bishops leaders, the Love Your Neighbor Coalition (LYNC) urges the Council of Bishops to reconsider the Leadership Gathering called for in 2026.

A Journey of Conviction: The Earth Day Vigil and Creation Justice in The United Methodist Church
United Methodists gathered at First UMC in Charlotte on the eve of General Conference to advocate for urgent action on creation justice, echoing a tradition dating back to the 1930s. Despite decades of rhetoric, movement leaders insist the church hasn't fulfilled its environmental commitments, prompting the United Methodist Creation Justice Movement to push for tangible change through collaboration and advocacy.

Prayer Walk Invites Connection with Creation
Together with the Upper Room and Abington Press, the United Methodist Creation Justice Movement has developed a self-guided reflection that invites participants to step out onto The Green, the park opposite the Convention Center, and “to experience God through creation.”
The 13-20 minute prayer walk draws participants through seven short meditations, guiding attention toward the grass, trees, and thanksgiving for the natural world.
