And so it begins. After the long wait and delays of the UMC General Conference, it was almost hard to believe that we were finally beginning.
The opening address by Bishop Thomas Bickerton, outgoing President of the Council of Bishop’s Invited those who are not were not here for the purpose of making a better United Methodist Church to leave, saying, "Don't you tell us we do not believe in the authority of the Scripture, Don't you tell us we do not believe in the resurrection, and Don't you tell us we do not believe in the Holy Spirit. If you do then why are you here? You are in the wrong place."

Earth Day Observance
LYNC coalition partners United Methodist Creation Justice Movement and Fossil Free UMC offered an Earth Day Celebration at Charlotte’s First United Methodist Church on April 22, Earth Day.

Queer Delegates Gather at GC
After months of organizing remotely, the United Methodist Queer Delegate Caucus assembled for lunch at the Hilton Garden Inn in uptown Charlotte, NC. The gathering was largely a hopeful one, with delegates joyful to be together. Read more …
