Therapy Dogs Offer Calming Comfort
There is a lot going on in Charlotte because of the General Conference of the United Methodist Church. Reports, committees, amendments, and so many other items are vying for our attention. At times it may feel like too much is happening to keep up. It is okay to take a break. Step outside and take in a breath of fresh air. To help provide moments of pause and an opportunity for rest, the Love Your Neighbor Coalition (LYNC) has arranged for therapy dogs to serve as fluffy ambassadors of comfort and care.
One such therapy dog, Moses, visited the LYNC hospitality room at the Hilton Garden Inn on Thursday, April 25. Moses is the furry companion seen in the accompanying image. The presence of this four-legged therapist provided a delightful diversion of canine companionship to the day’s business. Many came seeking emotional support from this trained, gentle, and non-judgmental healing hound.
If you missed Moses, there will be a few more opportunities to spend time with a therapy dog in the LYNC hospitality room. On Friday, April 26 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Jake (golden retriever) will be joined by human Ross followed by D’Art (bernedoodle) and human Karen. On Monday, April 29 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Maverick (German shepherd) and human Lisa will be followed by Abbey (cavapoo) with humans Andy and Annie.
The LYNC hospitality room is located at the Hilton Garden Inn (508 E M.L.K. Jr Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28202) in the Dogwood meeting room.
